Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress, model and actor who is primarily active within the Indian film industry. Jacqueline Fernandez was the 2007. Miss Sri Lanka Universe winner. Hailing from a multiracial family comprised of Canadian, Sri Lankan, and Malaysian origin, Fernandez spent the early portion of her life in Bahrain. Her education is in mass communications from University of Sydney. She had a lengthy stint in the field of television reporting and radio in Sri Lanka before she entered the world of modelling. After representing her country at Miss Universe 2006, she was one of the most sought-after fashion models from Sri Lanka. When she was in 2009 on her professional trip to India, she landed the role of Jasmine in Sujoy's film "Aladin" by SujoyGhosh'. Her breakthrough came during 2011, when she appeared as the main female in Murder 2. Fernandez has had a stellar career post-film, which was both a success on the box office and in the eyes of reviews. Her roles have since included films such as Housefull 2 and 3, 'Race 2', 'Definition of Fear', and Judwaa 2. She also serves as a brand spokesperson for many internationally-known brand names. She is a committed social activist who has various charitable causes and charities.
